Feasibility Study is Under Way!

Weston & Sampson – the consultants conducting the feasibility study for the trail, have been meeting with key stakeholders. In the first few weeks of June, they held and abutter-only forum to hear concerns and hopes for the trail. On June 15th, they met with the School Committee at a public meeting. Supporters (including 2 direct abutters) spoke in favor of the trail and how it would help reduce the negative activities that occur at present on the corridor. Also a guest from Milton spoke about the achievements of the Glover Elementary School. The Glover refurbished a foot/bike path leading to the Glover School and as a result, biking and walking by students has increased by 40 percent. This helped the town of Milton to receive an $865K grant from the Safe Routes to School Program that was used to fix sidewalks, crosswalks, and install traffic calming features to offer more safe biking/walking amenities.

The findings of the study will be presented in Fall 2016.

Yard signs are here!!!!!! If you are interested in promoting the rail trail – especially if you live near the corridor, please consider placing a “pro-trail” sign in your yard. The opponents of the project have done so with their own signs and now we want to get the word out that a majority of residents favor this project.  If interested, email us at
